HHA Program and CPR

1. What is the Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program?
Our HHA Training Program is a 75-hour hybrid course that combines online and in-person learning. It includes:

  • 51 hours of self-paced online instruction.
  • 24 hours of in-person skills lab practice.
  • 6-hour Dementia Training (required by the Indiana Department of Health for those caring for clients with a Dementia diagnosis).

The online portion is facilitated through Rochester Community Technical College (RCTC) and meets all state and federal requirements. Virtual skills practice is provided by CNA Simulations, adapted for home care settings.

2. Who is eligible to enroll in the program?
To enroll, applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be able to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
  • Have access to a laptop, tablet, or smartphone for the online portion.

3. How much does the HHA training program cost?

4. What is the class schedule?
The program is 7 weeks in duration and meets in-person on Fridays for skills lab practice. The specific times will be provided upon enrollment.

5. Where does the in-person training take place?

6. Will I receive certification after completing the course?
Yes! Upon successful completion, students will receive:
✅ A Course Completion Certificate.
✅ A certificate verifying 6-hour Dementia Training.
✅ Placement on the HHA registry with the Indiana Department of Health.

7. How do I sign up for an informational session?
We encourage you to attend a free informational session via Zoom, held every Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Simply send us a message with your preferred date, and we will send you the Zoom link.

BLS/CPR

1. What CPR courses do you offer?
We provide the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and covers adult and pediatric CPR, two-rescuer scenarios, airway management, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

2. What is the minimum number of participants required for a training session?
We require a minimum of four participants per session. At this time, we do not offer training for individuals or small groups of three or fewer.

3. How long does the CPR training take?
The BLS for Healthcare Providers course typically takes about 3-4 hours to complete, depending on the class size and participants' familiarity with the material.

4. Will I receive a certification after completing the course?
Yes! Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive a BLS certification card from the American Heart Association, valid for two years.

5. Where do the training sessions take place?
We primarily offer on-site training for organizations and groups. If you are part of a healthcare facility, senior community, or corporate group, we can arrange training at your location.
